| How to check the TV usage hours in the Panasonic Plasma? - 10/11/2009 1:02:34 PM |
| Q: |
Hi guys, i just bought a panasonic plasma 42pv8d for Rs.43k, and its being delivered tomorrow and i was just wondering how to check the usage hours on the plasma tv so that i am not conned into taking a display piece from the showroom.
And is there any other things that i should look into when the tv is delivered to me?
|
| A: |
also for the first 200 hours condition your plasma meaning for 200 hours set the contrast, color and brightness below 40 and then after that set it to the way you want because conditioning it will set up your plasma for the least chance of ever getting burn in. |

| Why Does My Panasonic Plasma Refuse To Output RGB signals ? - 5/13/2009 11:49:08 AM |
| Q: |
The RGB input does not output anything on my Panasonic Plasma .
The HDMI works fine but no RGB output .
The Manual says on the audio will be received but no composite signal .
|
| A: |
I suppose you mean that if you input a YPbPr (RGB port) signal it does not work?
What is your source? Try a DVD player with component out.
Make sure you use the remote to switch the input of the TV. |

| What is causing my Panasonic Plasma to make noise ? - 9/21/2008 7:43:47 PM |
| Q: |
My Panasonic 50' plasma makes a buzzing noise when i have it on Directv .
The channels on my directv receiver is very bright could this cause the noise problem ?
|
| A: |
Could be the fans. Your bright setting may cause the plasma to get hot causing the fans to turn on. If the buzzing noise is coming from your speakers it could be bad wires or bad directv receiver. |

| where do i find the part number of a video board for a panasonic plasma tv? - 6/6/2008 10:19:40 AM |
| Q: |
does anyone know where i would be able to find the part number of a video board? is the # located on the board itself? the tv is a panasonic plasma tv model TH42PE77U. the board is the main board with all the connectors where you would hook up a dvd player and cable wire. trying to order the part from panasonic but they need a part number and I have no clue what is it or where to find it.
|
| A: |
Here is a list of all the parts available for that TV:
http://www.pasc.panasonic.com/Epartr/PartsList.asp
There are some "circuit boards" listed. Maybe it is one of those?
If you can remove the board, it may match up with one of those numbers. The board should be labeled. |

| How do i get my Panasonic Plasma TV to upconvert my DVD's automatically ? - 2/20/2008 5:32:08 AM |
| Q: |
I do not have a upconverting DVD player .
I read that that the panasonic will do this automatically .
I do not know if my plasma is doing this or not .
|
| A: |
All fixed pixel displays will automatically scale whatever you feed it to the panels native resolution. Some are better at it than others. Most panasonics are generally pretty good at this, second only to the high end brands (pioneer, ect)
This doesnt mean that some upconverting players wont do a better job, but most wont. |

| Improving the sound on a 42 inch Panasonic Plasma? - 1/20/2008 3:15:08 PM |
| Q: |
I am looking for a 2.1 home cinema system to improve the sound on my Panasonic Plasma TV. Only thing is the TV is on the Panasonic stand. I do not want to have speakers on the wall. Any suggestions on any systems with speakers small enough that could sit on the glass shelf of the TV?
|
| A: |
Bose makes some nice surround systems with very small speaker--a little pricey but they sound great |

| Panasonic Plasma TH42PX60U loud pop then no picture or sound? - 12/28/2007 9:35:57 PM |
| Q: |
I've had the Panasonic Plasma TH42PX60U for about a year and a half. I went to turn it on tonight, and after a few seconds, we heard a loud pop, and then the picture and sound went off. Now the TV won't turn back on, and the power button blinks. No lighting or bad weather to cause this. Does anyone have any answers to this, or if it can be fixed. I bought the extended warranty, but hopefully they will cover it.
|
| A: |
You're damn lucky that you've bought the extended warranty. Yours is a 720p native resolution TV made in 2006. You can tell by the model number.
Anyhow - contact whoever you purchased your extended warranty through. If it was panasonic, call them at 1-800-211-PANA (7262) and ask for the extended warranty department. They will locate a servicer for you through the Panasonic Plasma Concierge Service Locator Group who will set up an appointment through an authorized servicer.
All you will need to do is watch the light blink - there will be a pattern (usually seven or eleven times before it pauses, then repeats). This will help the servicer determine what is wrong. They will come out and attempt to repair the television or replace the board - which will be like getting a new TV. Also, if the TV is wall-mounted, you will have to unmount it before the servicer arrives - they will NOT do it for you.
When you call the number for service - you will need the model number, a description of the problem, the serial number (usually stickered on the right panel of the TV), and your exact date of purchase from your receipt. In order to receive warranty repair - you will need proof of your purchase. Also, they will ask for a prior case number or your first and last name and your zip code to search if you are in their system. If not, they will get the information above and then refer you to another department (either the service locators or the extended warranty division).
If your warranty is purchased from the dealer - you would contact them about the repair. Also - and you may not know this - if you purchased the extended warranty from Panasonic - you are considered a Plasma Concierge member even though you may not have registered or signed up for the card. The card is designed just to make you feel special - but also has a direct number to call so you can get to the front of the call queue and get faster service.
Ask for the exchange program if the servicer has to take your television. If the servicer has a replacement TV available, they will provide it to you until yours is repaired.
Good luck.
There is only one call center for the Plasma TVs in North America - so if you call on Wednesday and get someone named Chris at extension 5712 - I'll be happy to assist you then. |
